SIK-Holz\u00ae<\/sup> is committed to providing its apprentices not only with technical knowledge but also with opportunities to gain international experience. The endeavor to look beyond the ordinary stems from a deep conviction that true knowledge and understanding grow beyond the everyday. In our longstanding collaboration with the Erasmus+ program, we have repeatedly recognized the valuable perspectives this initiative opens up for young people. The program allows them to deepen their professional skills and develop a heightened awareness of the international job market through internships abroad in Europe.<\/p>\n

A prime example is our aspiring wood sculptor Luka Hecht, who, in June 2024, as a second-year apprentice, had the privilege of completing a three-week internship with the renowned sculptor J\u00fcrgen Lingl in France. This period offered her not only the opportunity to immerse herself in the working methods of an acclaimed artist and learn new techniques but also to grasp the intricacies of artistic practice.<\/p>\n

Particularly noteworthy for Luka were those experiences that extended beyond the usual training framework. Right at the beginning of her stay, she gained insights into the world of bronze casting and the complex lost-wax casting process in Bordeaux. Although these processes are not directly applied in wood sculpting, they clearly demonstrated the kinship and connecting principles of different artistic disciplines. This helps open doors to new approaches and problem-solving strategies that enrich and deepen creative work.<\/p>\n

Another great experience for Luka was actively participating in the preparation and public relations for an exhibition that J\u00fcrgen Lingl opened during her stay together with Marlene Tyroller, a German artist. Such unique experiences are invaluable for anyone wanting to work in the arts and crafts. They offer profound insights into the organization, public relations, and realization of large artistic projects. This comprehensive experience enriches not only personal development but also brings new ideas and valuable impulses to the company.<\/p>\n

In summary, this stay was a real gain for Luka Hecht, an opportunity to elevate her development to a new level. The sculptures she created during her time in France gave her not only confidence but also a stronger sense of independence.<\/p>\n
