Urmel on the move in Augsburg – a playground dream comes true

With great joy and even greater excitement, the new playground at the elementary school in Augsburg was officially opened. After a long planning and construction phase, it is finally complete – and the wait was well worth it. From now on, it’s all about climbing up and down, balancing, romping around, and discovering!

At the heart of this new adventure is a creatively designed climbing structure that offers plenty of physical challenges. With ropes, bridges, and other balancing elements, it invites young adventurers to explore. Urmel, who is carefully “observing” all the fun, appears as a playful mascot, drawing children into a whimsical world of their own.

Artfully crafted sculptures add an extra touch of wonder and variety. Each figure invites children to play, linger, or simply marvel. The children have especially taken a liking to the “Wobble Penguin” – a funny, movable sculpture on a wobble board that not only brings laughter but also playfully promotes balance and coordination.

The new playground is more than just a place to play – it’s a meeting spot, a learning environment, and a small paradise for big imaginations. Just days after the opening, it’s clear: the children are embracing “their” new kingdom with bright eyes and unbridled joy.
